10 - Antonio French

Antonio French is alderman to the 21st ward in the city of St. Louis, MO, and one of the Democratic candidates for the 2017 mayoral election. He took about twenty minutes out of his busy schedule to give me an opportunity to talk to him about Being Black in America.

9 - Dionna "Dee Dee" Latimer

My friend Dee Dee welcomed me into her home to answer my questions and share her experiences. She also told me her organization Moving 4ward Ministries. An organization she founded to support survivors of sexual abuse. As always, this was an extremely eye opening conversation, and I thank Dee Dee for her willingness to share her stories with me.

8 - Kae Cox

My good friend Kae Cox joins me in my home for the first new episode of the show for 2017. Very sorry for the long delay between the last episode and this one! Kae and I had an excellent conversation about his experiences, and as always the answers to my questions were totally different from anyone else I have spoken to. I feel a little rusty after having not interviewed anyone for a couple of months, but we will find our stride again and keep bringing you these enlightening and necessary conversations. Thanks for listening.

6 - Eric Brown

Eric sits down with me to share some of his life experiences and talks about not letting negative experiences affect your outlook on life. I found myself sitting in almost stunned silence more than once when he was recounting some of the things he has been through in his life. Thanks to Eric for sharing with me, and I hope you enjoy hearing our conversation as much as I enjoyed having it.

5 - Metesa Edwards

This is one I have been looking forward to since the idea for Being Black was conceived. I had the pleasure of sitting down with my friend Metesa and hearing her story. She has been one of my most vocal supporters from the beginning and her encouragement has been truly inspiring. This project wouldn't exist if it weren't for people like her. Thank you Metesa.

Metesa holds nothing back in our conversation. She talks about the fears she has for her son, and how they differ from the ones she has for her two daughters. She talks about being a teen mom, black equality, and much more. Please enjoy.

2 - Patric Brown

In the second episode of Being Black I sat down with my good friend, Patric Brown. Patric holds nothing back in the stories he shares, and what he has to say has helped further my education and hopefully you can learn a thing or two from what he has to say as well. As before, I found myself wishing I had asked more questions or spent more time exploring a certain topic, but overall we both felt really positive about the talk we had.

All of my interviews will also be live broadcast and then archived on YouTube and you can subscribe to the channel right here.

1 - Jeffrey Bo Dean

Welcome to the very first episode of Being Black! My friend, Bo Dean, was gracious enough to sit down and talk with me. Also in the room with us was Jeff, Bo's sound engineer. You'll hear Jeff later in the episode.

Bo talks about his music, his family, being a teacher, what being black means to him, and plenty more you need to listen to hear..

Being the first episode, I wasn't sure what to expect, and I thought of more questions I should have asked once we stopped recording but overall I think we did alright.

Be aware, there is some explicit language.

Let's talk:
